Cattle FAQ
-
We currently raise Black Angus cattle and are excited to announce plans to introduce a line of American Wagyu in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates!

"Grass Fed" refers to cattle that are raised on a diet primarily consisting of grass or forage, rather than grain-based feed. This natural diet can contribute to healthier animals and leaner, flavorful beef with a distinct taste. It also aligns with sustainable farming practices, promoting a more natural environment for the cattle.
-
Our finishing process involves a diet of high-quality grasses and legumes that we grow right here on the ranch. This natural diet helps ensure the cattle are healthy and the beef is flavorful, tender, and well-marbled. We prioritize sustainable farming practices and allow the cattle to grow at their own pace, promoting a healthier, more humane approach to raising beef.
-
Dry aging is a process where beef is hung in a controlled environment for a period of time, typically several weeks, to enhance its flavor and tenderness. During this time, the meat naturally loses moisture, concentrating its flavor and creating a richer, more robust taste. We dry age our beef for 21 days to achieve the perfect balance of tenderness and flavor.
-
Every animal is born and raised on our ranch, spending their entire lives in our lush, green pastures. We take pride in providing a natural, stress-free environment where the cattle can graze and thrive, ensuring the highest quality product.
-
No, we partner with a USDA-certified processor to handle the processing of our beef. This ensures that all of our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
-
Yes, we use minimal vaccines, only vaccinating for diseases that are a concern in our area. We follow best practices and use live and modified live vaccines as needed. We do not use mRNA vaccines.
-
Yes, we use antibiotics on an as-needed basis to ensure the health of our cattle. However, any animal treated with antibiotics is removed from our beef program and sold commercially, ensuring that only animals raised without antibiotics are included in our beef offerings.
Shipping FAQ
-
All across the contiguous United States.
-
Shipping depends on distance, weight, and dimension and will vary per order.
-
Order cut-off is Sunday evening at midnight to give us ample time to pack up the boxes and get to the shipping counter on time.
-
All orders ship on Monday afternoon.
Shipping later in the week risks shipments getting stuck at distribution centers over the weekend and ruining the shipment.
Next Day Air shipments will occasionally ship on Tuesdays.
Due to the perishable nature of beef, we closely monitor weather events across the US that may impact the service of our carriers. We reserve the right to delay fulfilment, at our discretion, should we determine that delivery may be impacted by adverse weather.
-
Our beef is shipped frozen with dry ice. Each order ships with enough dry ice to last for the duration of the planned days in transit.
While there may not be any dry ice present upon arrival (as it sublimates during the journey), the product should still be mostly frozen when it arrives and safe for consumption, refrigeration or being placed in the freezer.
-
Your order should arrive completely frozen. If your beef arrived without any remaining dry ice, there is no need for concern - the dry ice simply sublimates in transit.
If the beef is still frozen, just defrost it in your refrigerator and cook it as normal or place it in your freezer to save for future use.
If the beef is thawed but still below about 40 degrees Fahrenheit, it can either be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or safely refrozen for future use.
-
No - at this time, shipping outside of the United States is unavailable.
-
No - At this time we cannot ship outside the contiguous United States.
-
Occasionally this does happen. A little bit of thawing is typically fine, but if your order was severely delayed and all of your product thawed and spoiled, please contact us immediately at thegrassfedamerican@gmail.com.
If we have enough beef in stock, we will usually offer to send out a replacement box the following week, or we can offer a refund. This is ONLY in cases where the shipment was delayed by UPS.
We strongly recommend someone being home on the day of your delivery to receive it and place your beef in the freezer as soon as possible. If no one is home to receive your order and your box sits in the sun all day and thaws, we can not be held responsible and replace or refund your order.
UPS does not include perishables in their shipping insurance so we bear these costs entirely ourselves!

Reword this:
We have a strict no returns and no refunds policy since most of our products are perishable and can not easily be shipped back and forth and we can not accept frozen products back for resale. If you need to return a sweatshirt or apparel, we will exchange for a different size if the customer pays shipping to send the original back to us. This does NOT apply for meats - all meats are NO returns or refunds, no exceptions.
